March 1, 2013 · by pcriadmin · PCRI

PCRI has confirmed a full cast of star dancers to compete at the second annual Dancing with the Stars Portland gala on Saturday, March 23, 2013!  The dancers include Katherine Cook, reporter for KGW NewsChannel 8; Simone Brooks, President of Brooks Staffing; Jill Nelson, founder and CEO of Ruby Receptionists; Adam Zimmerman, Executive Vice President of Craft3 and Portland Business Journal “40 under 40” honoree; and Joey Webber, better known as Portland Timbers’ icon Timber Joey.  Portland Mayor Charlie Hales and First Lady Nancy Hales will open the event with a featured dance.  Training for the star dancers and professional dance partners are generously provided by Fred Astaire Dance Studio.

The dance competition will be judged by a panel of community leaders including Ron Shellan, Partner at Miller Nash; Cobi Jackson, Vice President and Community Development Officer at Wells Fargo Bank; and Cyreena Boston Ashby, Director at Portland African American Leadership Forum.  Last year’s gala champion, Melvin Oden-Orr, will be the night’s Master of Cermonies.

The evening will feature a reception, dinner, and live auction.  All proceeds from the gala will support the affordable housing and award-winning services PCRI provides to help low-income Portland families achieve stability and self-sufficiency.
