PCRI Youth: Enter our “My Favorite Holiday Memory” Contest

November 30, 2011 · by pcriadmin · PCRI

PCRI Youth: share their favorite holiday memory or story for a chance to win great cash prizes!  The contest is easy and is open to all youth ages 6-17 who currently live in PCRI housing.  Are there rules?  Yeah, but they’re simple:

  • Write a short story up to one page in length (hand written or typed) about your favorite holiday memory. Be sure to describe the holiday in detail along with what made this holiday so special and why this holiday was different from others.
  • Stories should be your own, not the work of your parent.
  • If English isn’t your first language and you are in need of assistance please contact one of the Community Centers.
  • You must be a PCRI resident between the ages of 6-17.
  • All favorite holiday memories/stories are due no later than December 12that 4:30 p.m. at one of the following locations
    • PCRI main office (6329 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.)
    • Park Terrace Community Center (315 N. Alberta St.)
    • Margaret Carter Neighborhood Network Ctr. (626 NE Brazee)
    • Maya Angelou Community Center (4021 N Borthwick Ave)

Now here’s the good part–the prizes!  All entries received by the deadline date will be judged and two winning entries from each age category will be announced; one winner and one runner up.

  • The first 10 memories/stories that are submitted will receive $5.
  • The winner from each age group will receive $50 and the runner up from each age group will receive $25.
    • Age groups are: 6-8, 9-11, 12-14 and 15-17

On December 15th at 10:00 a.m. the winners of the contest will be announced and posted at PCRI. Contest winners can claim their cash prize at that time.  Now get started on those Holiday stories!
